Internship position

Better Generation is a young but rapidly growing renewable energy company that focuses on micro renewables. In 2009, we launched our first product, the Power Predictor, a renewable energy site assessment tool.

About you

We’re looking for a bright, enthusiastic and efficient graduate intern to join our company, based at Old Street in London and take on some of the technical support and product development work. This would be a great opportunity to get a career started in the renewable energy field.

There a lot to do. You will get the chance to work on a wide range of projects with tasks ranging from researching and writing blog stories to customer support and assisting in the development of powerpredictor.com

Required:

graduate with science / engineering background (or can prove technical aptitude)
interest in micro renewables
lots of get up and go
excellent communication skills
fluent in written and spoken English
confident and well spoken, with a good telephone manner
happy to network
a great researcher
readiness to muck in on a whole range of tasks

A bonus would be:

experience of using HTML and CSS
working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
experience of software development, particularly using php and sql

Experience in the renewables field isn’t a necessity... but enthusiasm is!

The work you'll be doing

We are looking for an intern to work in the technical support and product development departments.

Being a small and busy company the work you will be doing will be very varied, but the key tasks that you can expect to undertake will be to provide technical support to the Power Predictor customers, keep our online community up to date with exciting news from the world of micro renewables; new developments, inventions and announcements on funding and policy, and, depending on your skills and experience, there is also potential for you to get involved in the ongoing software and hardware development of the Power Predictor.

The catch is that sadly we can’t offer any real money – just infinite cups of tea and weekly expenses. On the plus side, you get to work in an informal, friendly office environment, and gain experience in what we think is a pretty cutting-edge and exciting field.
