Terms and conditions

1. Definitions

    A ′User′ refers to any person / persons who possess a Power Predictor unit and have activated their account on www.powerpredictor.com. A ′Distributor′ refers to a Power Predictor distributor who has exclusive rights to their country or region. A′Sub-Distributor′ refers to a Power Predictor distributor who buys stock directly from a Distributor or Better Generation Ltd. ′Data′refers to any wind or solar data collected by the Power Predictor, as well as Power Predictor site details as entered on to the User′s online account, but excluding the User′s contact and personal details.

By activating an account on this website (www.powerpredictor.com), and using the Power Predictor anemometer, the User accepts the following Terms & Conditions:


2. Privacy

  • 2.1 By activating their Power Predictor account the User is agreeing to Better Generation Ltd sending them occasional newsletters.
  • 2.2 Any Data added to a User′s online account at www.powerpredictor.com will be stored on Better Generation Ltd's servers, and thereof becomes the property of Better Generation Ltd. The Data will be accessible by the User and Better Generation Ltd.
  • 2.3 We, Better Generation Ltd, reserve the right to use any Data for research purposes.
  • 2.4 Better Generation Ltd, the Distributor, or the Sub-Distributor, reserve the right to contact a User for customer service or advice purposes.
  • 2.5 The User′s personal details will not be shared with any third party except under the conditions set out in 2.6.
  • 2.6 By selecting to receive a quote, the User is agreeing to share their Data and contact details with one or more of Better Generation′s registered installers.

3. Accuracy of data

  • 3.1 All wind forecasts or predictions are based on, where relevant, the Data collected by the Power Predictor anemometer, known UK seasonal wind patterns, and wind turbine power curves as provided by the manufacturer.
  • 3.2 All solar forecasts are generated by the Power Predictor site details as specified by the User, average solar PV installation costs provided by a range of installers, and either the PVGIS (for Europe and Africa) or PVWATTS (for the rest of the World) solar modelling tool.
  • 3.3 Better Generation Ltd is not responsible for the accuracy of any third party data.
  • 3.4 The Power Predictor wind speed anemometer is accurate to +/-0.5ms-1 at low wind speeds or +/-3% at higher wind speeds.
  • 3.5 This margin of error will be reflected in the energy output forecasts.
  • 3.6 Due to the above factors that are out of our control, Better Generation Ltd does not accept liability for financial decisions made on the basis of the power reports. We recommend contacting a local installer for further advice prior to investing.

4. Liability

  • 4.1 We do not accept any liability for financial loss, damage to goods, or physical injury as a result of the use of any equipment provided by Better Generation Ltd or the interpretation of the data.
  • 4.2 All 15m and 18m masts should only be erected by professional riggers due to the safety hazards involved.
  • 4.3 Users in any doubt about how to safely erect their mast or Power Predictor should contact a qualified and experienced professional rigger for assistance.

5. Software license

  • 5.1 The Power Predictor package includes a 12 month software license for access to www.powerpredictor.com, which will start from the date of account activation.
  • 5.2 The software license includes the option to record on three sites within a given area. When the main site is established, the User can set up two sub-sites within a circular area with radius of 500 metres starting from the point of the main site. If the User wants to record on a site positioned outside of this circular area, a new site license would be required. 
  • 5.3 There will be annual renewal charge to extend your access to www.powerpredictor.com beyond the 12 month period to cover the ongoing cost of maintaining and updating this service.
  • 5.4 We reserve the right to raise or lower the charge at any time.

6. Warranty

  • 6.1 The Power Predictor comes with a 12 month warranty during which time faulty devices may be replaced free of charge by Better Generation and it's agents.
  • 6.2 We do not accept responsibility for loss or damage during shipping, or when mounting the Power Predictor on a mast or pole.
  • 6.3 Masts and materials are guaranteed against faulty workmanship for a period of one year from the date of purchase, provided that the mast was purchased as a first quality original and erected in a proper manner.
  • 6.4 The extension cables come with a 12 month warranty during which time faulty devices maybe replaced free of charge.
  • 6.5 This warranty does not affect your statutory rights.

These Terms & Conditions are subject to revision by Better Generation Ltd.
