This cheap and cheerful wind turbine system is imported into the UK from China by Navitron as part of their range of budget renewable energy products. It comes with its own tower and electronic controllers for battery charging applications. It is probably not suitable for grid-connection. navitron 500w power output curveThe graph below shows the typical power produced (in Watts) for the Navitron 500W at different wind speeds. No power output data available for wind speeds above 15m/s is available, so the graph below assumes that furling occurs after this point. Blade diameter is an important thing to look at when comparing turbines, since it affects how much power can be captured from the wind. This turbine has a blade diameter of 2.70 metres. How windy? If you are thinking of buying a Navitron 500W, we'd advise measuring your wind resource first. Not just because we sell anemometers but it means you will have a much better idea of how much power you might generate.costPrice starts at £525 for a package including tower, guylines and anchors, inverter, controller, turbine, blades etc. Extra requirements include cement for foundations and batteries to complete installation. our viewAt this price you might argue its hard to go wrong, but you'll notice the difference with more polished (and expensive) European or North American brands. In other words, it might be a bit rough around the edges! We know owners who are delighted with them, others who are disappointed.
