Formerly known as the Whisper H40, the Whisper 100 was relaunched in 2006 by South West Windpower with some imrovements. Designed for battery charging, the Whisper 100 comes parcelled with a charge controller and diversion load unit, and the turbine itself has a feature where the output voltage can be changed in the field in just a few minutes. whisper 100 power output curveThe graph below shows the typical power produced (in Watts) for the Whisper 100 at different wind speeds.  Blade diameter is an important thing to look at when comparing turbines, since it affects how much power can be captured from the wind. This turbine has a blade diameter of 2.10 metres. How windy? If you are thinking of buying a Whisper 100, we'd advise measuring your wind resource first.
