The graph below compares the outputs of wind turbines in our database that have a max rated output less than 150W. These are the small generators you'll see on yachts or caravans, or sometimes attached to lamp posts and speed cameras at the side of the road. They are designed for trickle-charging a bank of batteries. The leaders of this group are the Aerogen 4, the Rutland 913 and the Rutland FM 910-3. The Aerogen 4 has the quickest kick-in speed (2m/s) but in general the Rutland FR 910-3 and the Rutland 913 perform better in lower wind speeds (2-7m/s). As of 7m/s the Aerogen 4 is the best performer, whereas from 17m/s the Rutland 913 produces more watts at the given wind speed.
